The Gazprom Neft filling station network and Yandex.Taxi launch a remote digital health screening service for drivers

The Gazprom Neft filling station network, together with Yandex.Taxi, is implementing the first ever project for automated pre-trip driver health screenings, under which some 100 Yandex.Taxi partner-drivers able to undergo pre-trip health screening at Gazprom Neft filling stations every day. This project, unique to the Russian market, will improve service quality as well as improving safety for passenger traffic on the roads.

Automated pre-trip health screening terminals for Yandex.Taxi partner-drivers will be installed at Gazprom Neft filling stations as part of the project. The first terminal is now in operation at the Gazprom Neft filling station on Belomorskaya Ulitsa, Moscow, with seven pilot health screening points expected to open throughout the Gazprom Neft filling station network by the end of the summer.

Using digital technologies for pre-trip health screens reduces the time spent on the procedure down to two to five minutes, as well as allowing data to be stored electronically. The system recognises each individual, thus avoiding any possibility of results being falsified. The equipment measures indicators including blood pressure and pulse rate, and identifies any evidence of alcohol or drugs in the blood, as well as exposing any evidence of chronic fatigue. The information obtained is forwarded automatically to a doctor.

Oleg Kuzmenkov, Head of the Gazprom Neft filling station network in Russia and the CIS, commented: “The Gazprom Neft filling station network offers a high-quality service, and a wide range of related goods — and now offers a ‘telemedical’ service with drivers able in a matter of minutes, and in the same place, to refill their vehicle, drink a cup of coffee, and have a health check. That’s the model for the future, already available at our stations.”

“Alexey Fedotov, Head of Development for Yandex.Taxi Russia, added: “This pilot project with the Gazprom Neft filling station network could improve transparency in pre-trip screening, and increase control over how these are managed. We hope to see automated terminals appearing in various medical institutions, taxi depots, and service stations, in the future. This will not only improve the system’s transparency, but also make transport companies’ work safer.”
