DANGEROUS CHASE INVOLVING SEVERAL CRASHES IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. IT STARTED WITH A STOLEN FLATBED TRUCK JUST SOUTH OF DOWNTOWN LA. THE DRIVER, SWERVING IN AND OUT OF TRAFFIC ON CITY STREETS AND FREEWAYS, AT TIMES DRIVING OVER MEDIANS AND EVEN THE WRONG WAY. IT WAS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AND JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEBODY GOT HURT. THE HIGH SPEED RAMPAGE COMING TO AN END IN LONG BEACH. THAT’S JUST IN THE TIME THAT WE’VE BEEN OVERHEAD. THAT DOESN’T EVEN COUNT THE 15 MINUTES OR SO THAT THIS GUY WAS GOING BEFORE WE GOT. OH, NO. OH MY GOSH. OH. OH MY GOSH. OKAY. YOU JUST SAW THE STOLEN TRUCK SLAM INTO INNOCENT DRIVERS. THE TRUCK THEN GOES ONTO A SIDEWALK BEFORE CRASHING INTO THAT BUILDING IN FRONT OF IT. ANYWAY, THE DRIVER GETS OUT AND CASUALLY WALKS DOWN THE SIDEWALK AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. THE DRIVER WALKED INTO A NEIGHBORHOOD, AND THAT’S WHERE OFFICERS CUFFED HIM. AFTER A BRIEF STRUGGLE. THE MAN WAS IN CUSTODY. AT LEAST NINE CARS WERE INVOLVED IN FOUR SEPARATE CRASHES. NEAR THE END OF THE PURSUIT, AND WE COULD SEE AT LEAST TWO PEOPLE TAKEN AWAY IN AN AMBULANCE.
