FYZICAL plans major expansion across southern Idaho

BOISE, Idaho (CBS2 News) — BOISE, Idaho — FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers is planning to open eight new clinics across southern Idaho over the next decade, with locations from Boise to Twin Falls to Pocatello. The company is seeking franchisees to help expand its presence in the region.

Ryan Littleford, the owner of FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers in Boise, highlighted the benefits of franchising in the physical therapy industry. "When I thought of franchising, I thought of McDonald's, Chick-fil-A, mostly food and restaurant, and I was shocked to learn that there's franchises in literally almost every industry that you can think of," he said.

Littleford emphasized the stability of the physical therapy industry, describing it as "about as recession-proof as you can get." He shared his personal experience, noting, "I had been through a couple of layoffs professionally, so I know how hard that can be if you're someone that is trying to provide for a family, like I was, and so going this route, you have a higher likelihood of success with a proven model."

He also spoke about the support system available to franchisees. "Thinking about going into business for yourself, it can be scary, it can be intimidating, especially if you don't necessarily know where to go to for resources. With franchising, they have all of the resources, they have all of the partnerships that you need to set you up for success," Littleford said.

FYZICAL is looking for franchisees who are passionate about health and well-being, not that necessarily have a background in physical therapy. "What we're looking for is someone that is going to trust the model that FYZICAL has and is willing to follow it," Littleford said. "What else we're looking for out of owners is someone that wants to make a difference in the community that they live in."

Patient Carolyn Miller shared her positive experience with FYZICAL. "I have so much more self-confidence and I'm just encouraged in what I can do because everything that I learned to do, I can do at home correctly," she said.

Littleford expressed the fulfillment he feels seeing the impact of his work. "It's just like our slogan, love your life. When our patients love their life, it makes me love my life," he said. "I can't think of a time in my professional career where I've been happier, where I've felt more satisfaction with what I'm doing."
