Jonesboro, AR — (Contributed) — March 26, 2025 — Set for a 17th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, the Arkansas State women’s bowling team will play Maryville in its opening match of the 2025 National Collegiate Women’s Bowling Championship.
The Red Wolves enter the tournament with a 79-39 record and finished fourth at the Conference USA Championship last weekend to earn one of eight at-large bids. A-State meets Maryville in the Pittsburgh Regional at 8:00 a.m. (CT) on April 4. The winner will face either Nebraska or the winner of the play-in match between Kutztown and Fayetteville State.
Joining the Red Wolves in the 18-team field are No. 1 seed Jacksonville State, No. 2 seed Nebraska, No. 3 seed Youngstown State, No. 4 seed Wichita State, Belmont Abbey, Fayetteville State, Felician, Kutztown, Louisiana Tech, Marian, Maryville, North Carolina A&T, Prairie View, Saint Vincent, Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin and Vanderbilt.
The 18 teams are split into four regions – two sites with four teams each, and two sites with five teams each. All regionals are double elimination, except for the play-in matches at the sites with five teams. Each round will consist of teams competing in a best-of-three mega-match format, bowled in the following order: five-person team match, Baker total pinfall and best-of-seven Baker match play.
The four regional winners advance to the championship finals at Suncoast Bowling Center in Las Vegas, NV, from April 11 to 12. The championship final will air at 8 p.m. (CT), April 12 on ESPN+.
