2024-25 ST. TAMMANY FARMER All-PARISH GIRLS SOCCER TEAM
St. Scholastica won its second straight state title by knocking off seven-time state champion St. Thomas More while Hannan made the state semifinals.
Overall, it was quite the year, and that is represented here — with our annual St. Tammany Farmer All-Parish Girls Soccer Team.
The team, which was chosen by sports editor Joseph Halm, is listed by Players and Coach of the Year first, then by the rest of the team in alphabetical order by last name. Each player has their season highlights listed.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Maggie Wylie, Forward, Hannan, Sophomore
District 6-III Offensive MVP.
The sophomore led the parish in goals scored with 33 on the season.
She also dished out eight assists as the Hawks made a semifinal run.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Jessie Kergosien, Defender, St. Scholastica, Senior
Named District 7-II Defensive Co-MVP.
The four-year starter anchored a defense that had 12 shutouts and won a state championship for the second straight season.
Also had two goals and three assists for the Division II state champions.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Glenn “Benji” Benjamin, St. Scholastica
Guided the Doves to their second straight state title with a 17-4-6 record.
St. Scholastica outscored its opponents 51-17 in 22 regular-season matches, and the Doves were even more dominant in the playoffs, outscoring their competition 30-3.
THE REST OF THE SQUAD
Claire Aertker, Midfielder, Mandeville, Senior
District 6-I first-team selection.
The senior defensive midfielder was a key part of the Skippers’ defense, which recorded 13 shutouts and advanced to the quarterfinals.
Lexie Anderson, Midfielder/Forward, Northlake Christian, Sophomore
District 7-IV first-team selection.
The sophomore, who plays goalkeeper during the club season, played the field for the high school season and recorded nine goals and 11 assists.
Shealan Biniam, Midfielder/Goalkeeper, Pope John Paul II, Junior
District 7-IV Defensive MVP.
Started the season in the midfield but moved to goalkeeper for the final month of the season. She finished with 55 saves and five goals allowed while also recording nine goals and four assists.
Kaitlyn Brady, Midfielder, Hannan, Junior
District 6-III first-team selection.
Battled injuries all season but still posted 15 assists and 10 goals in 13 matches played.
Casey Corales, Defender, Mandeville, Senior
District 6-I first-team selection.
Anchored the Skippers’ defense that recorded 13 shutouts en route to a quarterfinal berth.
Olivia Crusta, Defender, Fontainebleau, Sophomore
District 6-I Defensive Player of the Year.
Anchored the Bulldogs’ defense that didn’t allow a goal during district play and finished with 12 shutouts.
Libba Daniel, Goalkeeper, St. Scholastica, Junior
District 6-I first-team selection.
Anchored a Doves’ defense that had 12 shutouts and only allowed three goals in five postseason matches.
Aubrey Johnson, Defender, Northshore, Junior
District 6-I first-team selection.
Anchored Northshore’s defense and was named team MVP for the state quarterfinalists.
Braelynn Miller, Midfielder, Hannan, Senior
District 6-III Overall MVP.
Played central defensive mid for a team that recorded nine shutouts.
Carlie Perrin, Forward, St. Scholastica, Senior
District 7-II first-team selection.
The senior played varying roles on offense and defense, finishing with seven goals and six assists for the state champions.
Ella Schoder, Defender, Lakeshore, Senior
District 7-II first-team selection.
Moved to center defender this season to anchor the defense and still posted four goals and two assists.
Katherine Tissue, Midfielder, Fontainebleau, Freshman
District 6-I first-team selection.
Finished with 12 goals and 10 assists for the state quarterfinalists.
Caroline Todd, Forward, St. Scholastica, 8th-grader
District 7-II Overall MVP.
Finished with 22 goals and five assists en route to Most Outstanding Player honors in the Division II state championship match.
Kali Trahant, Forward, Northshore, Junior
District 6-I second-team selection.
Finished with 20 goals as a pivotal offensive player for the state quarterfinalists.
Alexis Whiting, Forward, Lakeshore, Senior
District 7-II Offensive MVP.
Finished with 17 goals and nine assists for the state quarterfinalists.
