A snowmobiler from Cedar City was airlifted to the hospital after colliding with a tree and sustaining serious injuries.

Iron County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of the accident shortly before noon on Monday, March 24, in the Dry Lakes area. The woman, in her late 20s or early 30s, reportedly suffered head injuries after striking a tree.

Witnesses found the victim unconscious with visible head injuries and facial bleeding. Once she regained consciousness, bystanders worked to stabilize her, although she remained noticeably impaired.

There was one other passenger on the snowmobile who was not injured.

First responders provided on-site treatment before airlifting the woman via LifeFlight. Her injuries were suspected to include a potentially broken collarbone and a dislocated shoulder.
