5 days out for the kids in London this Easter

London is bursting with exciting events over the Easter break and, lucky for us, it’s only a short train ride away for most Kent residents.

From pop-up chocolate markets to a real-life Minecraft adventure, here are five family days out coming to the capital city for the school holidays…

THE CHOCOLATE STATION, Battersea

You simply can’t have too much chocolate at Easter, so make sure you get your fill at Battersea Power Station’s first ever chocolate market. The market will pop up over the Easter weekend with stalls from expert chocolatiers across the UK and Europe, including Belgium’s oldest chocolate manufacturer. There will be vegan and gluten-free options, cakes, cookies and pastries, Easter eggs and truffles, and many more sweet treats.

Details: Good Friday to Easter Sunday at Battersea Power Station. Entry is free, no need to book.

MINECRAFT EXPERIENCE: VILLAGER RESCUE, Canada Water

It’s the best-selling video game of all time, so it’s hardly surprising that Minecraft has been turned into a real-life immersive experience. Fans of the world-building game can step inside their very own Minecraft adventure and help save the villagers by collecting resources, battling mobs and building their own escape route out of the portal.

RACE ACROSS THE WORLD: THE EXPERIENCE

Step inside BBC’s Race Across the World and compete against other racers to be the first across the finish line. The hit TV show has been turned into a playable experience in which participants will navigate the streets of London as part of a team, reaching popular landmarks, solving puzzles and figuring out the clues to finish top of the leaderboard. While the exact route is yet to be announced, the journey is expected to be around 4-5km and last up to three hours.

T. REX 3D AT THE SCIENCE MUSEUM, South Kensington

A new IMAX film about one of history’s most ferocious predators is showing this April. The new movie, named T. Rex 3D, will be shown inside the Science Museum’s theatre and features expert scientists and palaeontologists, collections from natural history institutions, and exhilarating audio and visual effects. The big-screen adventure will bring these prehistoric creatures to life and explore how science has helped us learn more about dinosaurs over the past 100 years.

Details: Open from Saturday, April 5 at the Science Museum. Entry to the museum is free, but tickets to see the film cost £12 for adults and £10 for children. Book online here.
