Dollywood buys Dutch Wonderland; what happens next to amusement park in Lancaster?

Dutch Wonderland will have a new ownership group by the time you visit the amusement park in Lancaster this summer.

Dollywood parent company Herschend recently purchased Dutch Wonderland, adding the park to a portfolio that also includes Kennywood and Lake Compounce.

Herschend leadership promised customers would see no changes or disruptions to the day-to-day operations of Dutch Wonderland. So you can expect a similar Dutch Wonderland experience to the ones you've grown accustomed to.

Dutch Wonderland will have a new owner when it opens the 2025 season on Saturday, April 5.

"Herschend is committed to ensuring a smooth transition for employees (hosts), guests, and communities," read Herschend's statement confirming the Dutch Wonderland purchase. "No immediate changes are planned for daily operations as the company thoughtfully integrates these properties into its portfolio."

Dutch Wonderland will open its 2025 season on Saturday, April 5.
