Former Ryder Cup player Sergio Garcia has been slipping in the OWGR, but not on the earnings list. The golfer, after the switch to LIV Gof in 2022, has constantly struggled with his world ranking. Despite his multiple wins at the LIV schedule, he ranks 509 in OWGR. But with his performance and recent triumph, he is now slowing down with his increase in career earnings.

With a total of 38 career wins, including the recent win at LIV Golf Hong Kong, the golfer has received a huge increase in earnings. Speaking about his performance, he shared, “I knew that I had to play well. My goal from the beginning of the day was to shoot 5-under, and when I got to 5-under, then I had to make a new goal, and I was like, okay, let’s try to make a couple more in the last eight holes because I got to 5 on 10.” The Spaniard with his -5, -6, and -7 rounds sealed the victory and a whopping prize of $4 million.

Apart from his win this year, the yearly earnings on course for the golfer have increased since 2022. The golfer on the PGA Tour in 2019 earned $1.7 million, which later saw a decline as the earnings stood at $658,935. The earnings had a major share from the victory at the Sanderson Farm Championship, which was $1,188,000. But the major jump came in 2022, as he garnered $42 million in total as per Forbes in August 2022. Though the signing bonus with LIV is not disclosed, as per a few reports, it is expected to be $40,000,000. The bonus has the majority chunk for the golfer in 2022. In 2023, he was also a part of the list of the world’s highest-paid athletes of Forbes with $46 million in earnings. The switch to LIV Golf has been the major turning point for the golfer’s wealth, as his two wins in the Saudi league have helped with $4 million each. Last year he won the LIV Golf Andalucia, while this year he won the Hong Kong event.
