Robert Brown (left) has been named vice president of quick service restaurant (QSR) operations at EG America. He was previously divisional vice president for the central region.
In his new role, Brown will lead enhancements to operational efficiencies, strengthen brand awareness and create environments where EG America’s retail teams thrive and guests feel welcome, the company said. He will report to Elizabeth Pierce, COO of EG America who manages retail operations.
EG America is No. 5 on CSP’s 2024 Top 202 U.S. c-store chains by store count.
Mendy Meriwether is also vice president of foodservice, beverage and QSR at the chain. She leads food and beverage strategy and advances the company’s QSR brands and foodservice support teams, ensuring development of core food operations, implementation of new and innovative initiatives and execution of high-level campaigns.
In October, EG America revealed that it is introducing three new food concepts at its Cumberland Farms store in New Bedford, Massachusetts, with plans to expand to other locations in 2025.
“Guests have been pleased and sales have been favorable,” an EG spokesperson told CSP. “Hours of operation in New Bedford were recently expanded from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. and the response from guests was very strong.”
Customers can order Alanza Pizza, Burger Baby and Wing Trip meals either in-store or through DoorDash.
With pizza created by Michele D’Amelio, a native from Naples, Italy, Alanza offers crispy crust and toppings like pesto, slow-cooked Bolognese sauce and meatballs. The pizzas feature Neapolitan techniques with the flavors synonymous with the Italian-American dining hot spots of New York and New Jersey.
Burger Baby nods to tradition before putting a new spin on classic smash-style burgers with truffle aioli, sweet-and-tangy barbecue sauce and more. The burgers come from butcher Pat LaFrieda and are served on soft, toasted rolls.
Wing Trip's menu combines classic chicken wing flavors, like Buffalo and Lemon Pepper, with new-school inspirations from around the world, like Spicy Miso, Tandoori Wings and Nashville Hot.
In the fourth quarter of 2024, EG America’s gross profit was made up of 3% foodservice. Merchandise, 47%, fuel, 45% and other, 5%, made up the rest.

“We are thrilled to have Robert take on this new role and welcome Carl to the company,” said Elizabeth Pierce, chief operating officer. “Robert’s strong leadership skills and strategic vision will help us elevate the presence of our current QSR locations and Carl’s industry experience and expertise will drive the success of our Central Region stores.”
