EXCLUSIVE: Independent Artist Group has signed Purple Intuition, a full-service production company that specializes in producing equitable content with and for marginalized individuals. The collaboration between IAG and producers, Marie Alyse Rodriguez and Edgar Lacey Rosa, seeks to elevate the creative voice of diverse artists in the film, TV and commercial space.
The agency touts Purple Intuition as “a dynamic production company that continues to build its reputation as a creative force with a diverse slate of compelling projects.” They celebrated the success of the dramedy feature Bob Trevino Likes It, which won both the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize at the SXSW Film Festival last year. Set for a limited theatrical release on March 21, 2025, by Roadside Attractions and then Lionsgate Home Entertainment, the film stars Barbie Ferreira and John Leguizamo.
IAG, with its roster of filmmakers, musicians, and production artisans, is committed to assisting its clients in producing content that has meaningful social impact and a lasting imprint. As part of the new relationship, IAG’s resources will help Purple Intuition and the artists they collaborate with maximize their global potential in service of this mission.

“We are committed to diversity in the creative community and the workplace and we admire what Marie and Edgar are doing,” IAG shared in a statement. “We relish the opportunity to help empower production companies like Purple Intuition by providing them with essential access to creative talent and expertise, and the proper strategies to ensure their projects resonate and get made.”
In addition to Bob Trevino Likes It, Rosa and Rodriguez had a productive 2024 with several other exciting projects in the pipeline. Hello Out There, from emerging director Otis Blum, showcases a collaboration between Phil Dunster and Chloe Bennet in a road trip dramedy about the search for alien life, recovery, and a chance to find our place in the universe. Following that momentum, Maybe We Should, is a drama featuring Heather Graham, Kevin Nealon, and Rel Howery about a family navigating the challenges of raising their non-verbal daughter while determined to create an inclusive therapy center for children with disabilities in rural America. The company just wrapped production on a comedy film in Oklahoma and has assembled a slate of projects in development, all of which currently remain confidential.
Before Rodriguez and Rosa joined forces, the producers lent their services to films like Queenmaker: The Making of an It Girl, now streaming on Hulu, as well as National Anthem, Bone Lake and High Tide in collaboration with LD Entertainment. They found collaborators in these projects that mirror their commitment to redefining boundaries of producing meaningful, impactful cinema.
“We are committed to inclusivity and intentionality in every project we create,” said Rodriguez, producer & co-founder of Purple Intuition. “Our foundation is rooted in a deep desire to tell stories that offer authentic, fresh perspectives. This relationship with IAG aligns us with a powerhouse agency that shares our vision for elevating underrepresented voices both in front and behind the lens.”
“We’ve been fortunate to build careers off of challenging norms to spark important conversations through the power of media,” added Rosa, producer & co-founder of Purple Intuition, “…the state of today’s current political landscape shows us that there is still a lot of work to do.”
