Who are the top players to watch?

Here are some players for each team who will be key to the game:

COLORADO STATE

  • Nique Clifford: The 6-foot-6 wing is fourth in the Mountain West in scoring (17.4 points per game), second in rebounding (9.8 per game) and sixth in assists (4.1 per game). He's coming off a 21-point, 13-rebound performance against San Diego State.
  • Jalen Lake: CSU's second leading scorer at 12.1 points per game, but the senior has hit a shooting slump. He's 0-6 from 3-point range in his last two games; over the last six games, he's 8-34 (24%) from deep. A return to shooting form would be a big boost for the Rams on the road.
  • Rashaan Mbemba: The 6-foot-7 center doesn't have big stats (8.1 points, 3.5 rebounds per game) but the Rams are best when he's on the floor, bringing physicality to both ends.

UTAH STATE

  • Ian Martinez: The 6-foot-3 guard leads the team and is fifth in the Mountain West in scoring at 17 points per game.
  • Mason Falslev: The 6-foot-3 guard is second on the team in scoring (14.5 points per game), first in rebounds (6.3 per game), first in assists (3.75) and first in steals (2.3).
  • Dexter Akanno: The 6-foot-5 guard is tied for third on the team in scoring at 8.5 points per game and has hit 42% of his 3-pointers on the season.
