CVS launches new CVS Health App, offering new features for customers
CVS Pharmacy announced the release of its new CVS Health app on Tuesday, which the pharmacy chain said “will help make healthcare more accessible, affordable and convenient.”
The app is the successor to the CVS Pharmacy app and is one of CVS’s new initiatives to improve its healthcare experience.
Designed to become a single app for consumers to manage their healthcare, the app features new technologies, including the ability to manage prescriptions for the entire family across CVS Pharmacy stores, CVS Caremark mail orders and CVS Specialty pharmacies, the ability for ExtraCare customers to use the CVS Health app to open locked display cabinets for easier access to merchandise, and an enhanced, AI-powered search that helps consumers locate products, services and information from across CVS Health and select third-party content providers.
“As a company, we are super focused on improving the health care experience,” CVS Health Executive Vice President Tilak Mandadi said. “The CVS Health app will make it easier for our customers to access and manage their health and care, save time and money, and make informed decisions about their health.”
Many of these enhancements to the app were underway throughout 2024, CVS said, and the app will continue adding new capabilities and features this year that will make it even more convenient, affordable and simple for consumers to access the care they need.
“The app is the health concierge and guide for all consumers,” Senior Vice President and Chief Digital and Technology Officer of CVS Health Pharmacy and Consumer Wellness Tony Ambrozie said. “With 60 million digital customers, we are excited to continue to innovate and bring best-in-class and first-in-industry capabilities to our customers.”
The new feature allowing customers to open locked display cabinets has been available at three CVS locations in New York City as part of a pilot program and will soon be available on the West Coast.
It has not yet been announced when the new feature will become available at New England pharmacy locations.
