Derbyshire animal lovers are in luck as a new award-winning pet shop has announced that it will be coming to the county early this year.
Jollyes will be opening its new Chesterfield store in the first half of 2025, alongside locations in Swansea, Pontefract, Chichester and Perth. The new stores will include community pet clinics which offer “unbeatable prices” for essential vet services like microchipping and vaccinations.
This comes at the same time as Jollyes’ announcement that it will be lowering more than 3,000 prices in a bid to “underline its position as the price leader in a specialist sector”.
The lower pricing will also apply to the community pet clinics, and vaccinations will be reduced from a Pet Club-only price of £44 to £39. This, the retailer explains, is “an important move which widens the price gap on key services between Jollyes and traditional vets”.
Joe Wykes, Jollyes’ chief exec, said: “We understand how much joy a pet brings to families, but we also know the cost of that commitment is high, especially at a time when household budgets are under pressure from energy bills and mortgage payments. That’s why we’re simplifying our prices, so customers won’t need to be a member to get the value that pet parents demand.”

Wykes added that being “relentless” in lowering prices to deliver on the brand’s promise to be the “best value pet store in town” was "part of Jollyes’ DNA". “We’re looking forward to bringing that combination of low prices, service and expertise to even more communities during 2025.”
Jollyes was named the best retailer in Britain at the Retail Week awards for retailers taking under £250 million in turnover in 2024, and was also included on the Sunday Times’ list as one of Britain’s best big companies to work for. The year before, it won the Pet Industry Federation Retail Chain of the Year.
Jollyes began life as a single store in Enfield in 1971 and now has more than 100 stores across the UK and Ireland. It sells food, accessories and toys and offers services like dog grooming and vet care.
In October 2023, the store opened a location in The Pipeworks in Swadlincote town centre. It created a dozen jobs and, during the official opening, 100 goody bags were given out for free.
