You might have seen tons of crazy things on the golf course. From dangerous, huge snakes resting easy in the cup to giant alligators making their way to the water through the greens, fans have witnessed it all.

However, a similar wild incident took place at the recent Shoprite LPGA Classic tournament. In fact, the video of the unexpected scenario is going viral on the internet. But to everyone’s surprise, fans have decided to drag Patrick Cantlay into the situation for an absolutely bizarre reason!

Patrick Cantlay has been involved in several controversies throughout his career on the PGA Tour. The golf star has made his way towards the top of the OWGR leaderboard. However, fans have been giving him a hard time on social media for his infamous slow play during tournaments.

Not to mention, the golfer has been called out by several professionals for his exceptionally slow pace of play at events, including the Masters. However, this time, it was not even about him. But fans saw it as a reason to drag the golf star into the plot after they spotted, well, a turtle on the course! Yes, you read that right.

A clip from the Shoprite LPGA Classic is currently going viral on Instagram, featuring a turtle who is casually walking across the Bay course at Stockton Seaview Hotel and Golf Club during the event. It is quite stunning to watch how incredibly fast the reptile is moving despite, being known for its slow movement.

You might have already guessed where this is going. Looking at the turtle’s amazing speed, fans saw an opportunity to troll Cantlay for his controversial slow play. Here’s what some of them had to say:

“Still Faster than Cantlay”

“Cantlay’s caddie 😂”

“Didn’t know Cantlay was in the field”

“Still faster than some of the players sadly 😔”

While others were simply in awe at the speed of the four-legged terrapin.

“Storming the technodrome like 🐢🍕”

“Where’s that darn water hole?” wondered the 🐢”

“Looks like the turtle wants to contest and play golf”

Well, fans definitely had all kinds of reactions up their sleeves. However, it was pretty surprising of them to bring Cantlay despite his lack of involvement in the tournament.

Although the golfer hasn’t responded to any of the comments on the recent turtle video, he once came up with a sarcastic 2-word reply over similar accusations. After making his third career hole-in-one at Harbour Town Golf Links, Cantlay posted a video of the same on Twitter and wrote, “Playing faster!”

The golfer also tried to explain why it took him so long to hole in his putts during certain tournaments. “When you play a golf course like Augusta National where all the hole locations are on lots of slope and the greens are really fast, it’s just going to take longer and longer to hole out,” he said.
