From 2003 until 2007, Crowder served as EVP and CFO of TransCommunity Financial, a community bank holding company, and since 2007, he has served as a managing partner with Ascential Equity LLC in Richmond, Virginia.

North Carolina-based ECB Bancorp is a bank holding company whose wholly-owned subsidiary, The East Carolina Bank, is a state-chartered, community bank with 24 offices covering eastern North Carolina.
