McDonough Named CMO At Diageo North America

December 9, 2009 (FinancialWire) — Diageo (NYSE: DEO), a spirits, beer and wine company, has appointed Peter McDonough, who currently as its president for North America Innovation, to the role of president, chief marketing & Innovation officer, effective January 1, 2010.

In conjunction with this appointment, Diageo will be combining its marketing and innovation teams. McDonough will report to Larry Schwartz, president, Diageo USA.

As a result of this organizational change, Jon Potter will move out of his current role as chief marketing officer, North America, and Diageo said it will work with him to explore future opportunities within the company.

Diageo’s brands include Johnnie Walker, Guinness, Smirnoff, J&B, Baileys, Cuervo, Tanqueray, Captain Morgan, Crown Royal, Beaulieu Vineyard and Sterling Vineyards wines.
