En vogue: Avoca deal helps boost Aramark's Irish profits

Tara O'Neill, managing director of Avoca

The expansion of the Avoca brand here last year contributed to operating profits at new owners Aramark Ireland more than doubling to €7.76m.

New accounts filed by Aramark Ireland Holdings Ltd and subsidiaries show revenues increased by 30.4pc, from €310m to €351.57m.

The directors said the increase in turnover is mainly attributable to the inclusion of a full year's Avoca business versus nine months in 2016 when the Avoca business was agreed. The business was boosted by Avoca - whose managing director is Tara O'Neill, above - adding to its network of outlets with the opening of its Dunboyne, Co Meath, outlet in 2017.

The directors of Aramark said revenues increased arising from positive increases in catering and facilities along with "an increased client base, strong retention and new business wins in other areas".

The group recorded pre-tax profits of €4m after net interest payments of €3.7m are taken into account. The pre-tax profit of €4m followed a pre-tax loss of €1.6m in 2016.
