It feels like just yesterday that we were complaining about the heatwave, but apparently it's now almost Christmas, as Starbucks have just launched their Pumpkin Spiced Latte Autumn special.

No, you haven't slept through the bank holiday weekend and into September, it's still August 28th, but for some reason the high street coffee chain has decided to release both their pumpkin spice latte and their pumpkin spice cappuccino a few weeks earlier than usual.

The Halloween and autumn favourite usually launches in September heralding a turn in the weather and is often an indicator of a start of the festive season as people start thinking about cosy fires and late-night shopping.

PSL season is officially here. Yes, in August

The limited editions drinks are made with pumpkin pie flavour syrup and seasoned with cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg and are apparently the coffee giant's top-selling seasonal drink of all time.

As well as PSL season, the autumn menu range will also see the return of the Salted Caramel Mocha and Teavana Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte as well as a new espresso mocha and two cold drinks with cocoa and maple pecan.

Hopefully Starbucks' new Autumn menu will amp things up a little bit for the iconic coffee chain, whose stock price has taken a bit of a hit in the past few months.

In June, executive chairman Howard Schultz revealed that he was retiring after stepping down as the brand's chief executive back in April 2017.

Alongside the announcement of Howard's departure came news that the company was also closing 150 of its branches, while also quietly increasing prices.
