Three-car crash at Mt Barker causes serious injury to teenager

A TEENAGE boy has been seriously injured in a three-car crash in the Adelaide Hills.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Morphett St and Adelaide Rd, at Mt Barker, after reports three cars had crashed just before 11pm on Friday.

The crash involved a Mazda sedan, a Mitsubishi 4WD and a Ford sedan.

One of the passengers in the Mazda sedan — a 16-year-old Nairne boy — suffered facial and head injuries and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Major Crash officers attended the scene, and local traffic police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.

Roads were closed in the area for several hours but have since been reopened.
