CLEVELAND, Ohio – Sherwin-Williams expects to begin moving into its new global headquarters in downtown Cleveland and its research and development center in Brecksville in the last three months of 2025, the company announced Monday.
Sherwin-Williams also announced that it plans to light up the company’s sign atop the 36-story downtown tower on April 7. The sign, positioned on both the east- and west-facing sides of the building, spans 106 feet across, with letters ranging from 7 to 11 feet tall.
The headquarters building had been expected to be complete in 2023, but has faced delays. In February, the company acknowledged it needed to fix the application of fireproof coating on steel beams throughout the tower.
The move-in process is now expected to wrap up in early 2026 for the downtown building and the site in Brecksville, which will officially be named the Morikis Global Technology Center.
The Brecksville location is named in honor of John G. Morikis, who served as Sherwin-Williams’ ninth CEO during a 40-year career with the company. The facility’s name will be displayed on its main signage.
Sherwin-Williams, a global leader in paint and coatings, has been based in Cleveland since its founding in 1866. The new headquarters is the first skyscraper built on Public Square in decades and the future home of about 3,100 Sherwin-Williams employees.
