SAGINAW, MI — Installation of a new software system at Saginaw City Hall will mean residents hoping to pay city bills Monday, March 31, must wait until the afternoon.
Saginaw officials said a planned cloud-based computer software system update will prevent payment processing from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday.
The city’s treasury office also will be closed during that time, with doors reopening to the public and payment acceptance resuming at 1 p.m. that same day.
Bill payments impacted during that five-hour suspension in services will include water utilities, permits, fees and taxes, Saginaw officials said.
Residents can still drop off payments in the City Hall payment drop box when the building opens at 8 a.m. Offices close at 4 p.m. daily.
For more information about the 5-hour interruption in Saginaw billing capabilities, residents can contact the treasurer’s office at (989) 759-1460.
The software update — a transition that has been a year in the making — will impact many aspects of city operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, licensing, permitting, utility billing, purchasing, and human resources management, City Hall officials said.
