Óbuda University teams up with Stanford and Singapore university for pioneering medical robotics project

Hungary’s Óbuda University, the US’s Stanford University and the National University of Singapore (NUS) have launched a joint medical robotics project, Óbuda University said on Wednesday.
Under the project, the three universities will create in the next three years algorithms to correspond to the latest technologies in the science of robotics. It is aimed at implementing radically new ideas and research directions that have not yet been introduced in surgical robotics and laboratory automation, the university said in a statement.
“It shows the international recognition of the Óbuda University that its call has been welcomed and accepted by the leaders of two of the world’s TOP 10 universities,” Levente Kovács, the university’s rector, was quoted as saying.
He said that robots are becoming capable of performing increasingly complex tasks, and artificial intelligence methods can significantly accelerate research. According to the statement, all three universities will contribute significant resources, including top experts, to the joint project.
