SEOUL, March 26 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Group said Wednesday it has donated 2 billion won (US$1.26 million) to support relief and recovery efforts for residents affected by recent wildfires in South Korea's southeastern region.

The donation, delivered to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, will be used to aid the recovery in areas hit by large-scale wildfires, including Sancheong of South Gyeongsang Province, Uiseong of North Gyeongsang Province and Ulju in Ulsan.

The group has also dispatched six emergency support vehicles, including laundry and disinfection trucks, to help process contaminated laundry and offer sanitary support at the disaster sites.

In addition, two mobile office buses have been deployed to provide rest areas for displaced residents and volunteer workers.

The group is also offering special repair discount support for Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. customers whose vehicles were damaged by the wildfires.

Non-insured customers who present damage verification documents are eligible for discounts of up to 50 percent, with a maximum benefit of 3 million won per vehicle, the group said.
