BOXX Insurance has appointed Jonathan Weekes as president of its Canada operations.

Weekes was most recently senior vice president and cyber practice leader at Hub. Prior to that role, he’s held roles at Aon, AIG and Marsh, and has 17 years of industry experience.

The cyber insurance company says it will focus on growing in Canada, expanding its product suite, and strengthening its market position under Weekes’ leadership.

He succeeds Phil Baker, who served as BOXX Canada president and chief underwriting officer since 2022. Baker will transition to CUO of BOXX’s global operations.

“I’m excited to take on this exciting new role at BOXX,” Weekes says in a press release. “Phil and the team have built an incredible foundation and I look forward to building upon it to drive BOXX’s next phase of growth and innovation in the Canadian cyber market.”

“We are excited to have Jonathan on board to lead our Canadian business, and we are equally thrilled that Phil will now fully focus on our international expansion in his CUO role,” said Vishal Kundi, CEO and co-founder of BOXX.

BOXX has appointed Neal Jardine as its chief cyber intelligence and claims officer. He has been the company’s global director of cyber risk intelligence and head of claims since 2022. Jardine’s new role, BOXX says, affirms his global responsibility.
