He was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord and lived his life with kindness and compassion. Homer found joy in the great outdoors, often spending his days basking in the sunshine on his back porch. He cherished the simple pleasures of life. He had a deep love for fishing and could often be found by the water, enjoying the tranquility it brought him as well as listening to his favorite music.
Homer was born on March 19, 1944 in Cloud’s Cove to Henry Lee & and Mary Jane Russell. Homer proudly served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Lexington from 1964 to 1968 in the engine room. After his service, he continued to contribute to his community and worked at both Revere Copper & Brass, and Lozier as a forklift driver for over 50 years before retiring. He also ran his landscape service for many years during that time. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering with his toys, always finding ways to bring joy to those around him. He had a gift for storytelling, sharing tales from his past that captivated the hearts of everyone around him.
As his final request, Homer asked that on this day, we share our love for Jesus and invite each of you to open your hearts to Him. He encouraged everyone not to leave today without embracing Gods love. Homer will be remembered for his warm spirit, love for the outdoors, fishing, music, and the countless memories he created with those he loved. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, laughter, and love that will last forever.
