Pols, the Dutch parent company of Kioti UK, has been acquired by SMT Netherlands. The acquisition which still requires approval from the authorities is expected to be completed in June 2025.
This agreement expands the SMT (Service Machinery Trucks) product portfolio (includes of Volvo construction equipment and Sennebogen cranes and material handlers) with the Kioti, Ransomes, Jacobson, and LM Trac brands. Kioti UK and Pols will continue to operate under their existing names after the proposed takeover and will retain the existing locations and employees. Dealers and customers can continue to count on the current offering and more is the message.
The potential for the Kioti products was an important consideration of the agreement for both the Dutch and UK markets. “After careful consideration, SMT is the right partner for us to further shape the future of Pols and Kioti UK,” said Piet van der Pols, CEO of Pols and Kioti UK. “I am convinced that our customers and employees will benefit enormously from this agreement.”
In Great Britain, SMT is the exclusive dealer of Volvo construction equipment, Dynapac, and K-Tec Earth mover products. The agreement also includes the recycling and screening brands of Doppstadt, Keestrack, RSP, SENRO, SBM, previously handled by Pols.
The acquisition of Pols fits perfectly with the growth strategy of SMT, comments Jérôme Barioz, CEO of the SMT Group. “In combination with Volvo and Sennebogen, we can offer end to end solutions for various market segments.”
