And the role of Princess Beatrice is set to be played out on-screen by Charity Wakefield in Netflix's new film Scoop.

The upcoming release depicts the bombshell interview between Emily and Prince Andrew, Duke Of York, where the latter spoke on his relationship with the American convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein

Talented actress Charity, 42, has confirmed this week that she has the 'honour' of playing Prince Andrew’s elder daughter, 34, in the film.

Years following the broadcast, it was famously revealed by producer Sam McAlister, whose memoir the film is based on, that Beatrice was an unexpected guest to the shocking interview.

‘I have the honour of playing HRH Princess Beatrice alongside a, quite frankly, frighteningly good cast,’ confirmed Sussex-born Charity.

She joins a star-studded cast to recreate the monumental time as Gillian Anderson will portray journalist Emily, Rufus Sewell takes on the role of Prince Andrew and Billie Piper will play producer Sam McAlister.

Around two years after the BBC interview aired, Sam revealed that Beatrice came to the studio with her father as an unexpected guest.

Appearing on This Morning, she shared that the royal coming along was a 'real curveball', explaining: 'I'd turned up to the negotiation slightly brassy, a little bit ballsy, as I'm sure you've noticed about me already, a little bit ooh, a little bit aah, albeit with intellect and the legal element.

'But then Prince Andrew said "oh by the way, I've brought someone with me". I'm thinking it's got to be a lawyer, please God for your sake, let it be a lawyer, and then round the corner, Princess Beatrice is here.'

Reflecting on how Beatrice being there affected the situation, Sam continuing: 'Now the only thing worse than negotiating an interview with an alleged sex offender in a royal situation is doing so in front of his young daughter.

Opting for an understanding approach, she added: 'I asked her tentative questions as she was just looking out for her dad.'

Scoop is based on Sam's memoir, Scoops: Behind The Scenes of the BBC's Most Shocking Interviews.

Actress Billie and producer Sam were spotted filming scenes last week as they kicked things off.

In the film, Netflix is going to detail the behind-the-scenes account of what has been dubbed the 'news interview of the decade'.

Not long after the interview, the royal stood down from public duties.

While in 2022, The Queen announced that he would be stripped of his royal titles, patronages and military affiliations – as he faced a US civil action lawsuit over sexual assault allegations from Virginia Giuffre - which he strongly denied.
