Mumbai: The automotive industry has been witnessing quite a few people's movements of late. The latest one is of Anurag Dubey, Vice-president, sales and customer care at Mahindra & Mahindra’s Truck and Bus division, who has ended his nearly 5 year stint at the company. Prior to joining M&M in January 2018, Dubey was heading the sales & marketing of small commercial vehicles and pickup trucks at Tata Motors.

A highly experienced professional in the commercial vehicle industry, Dubey had a stint of over 12 years in Tata Motors before moving to Mahindra & Mahindra, which has been executing a top-down strategy in the M&HCV segment.

Starting with the Blazo, a ‘challenger’ brand in the HCV segment, Mahindra Truck & Bus has been expanding its portfolio to the MCV and ILCV categories of the truck market. The OEM has adopted a unique ‘guarantee’ strategy to garner share in a space dominated by the duo of Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland. A key guarantee has been of fuel efficiency, which assures the customer a buyback of the truck in case it doesn’t deliver its claimed fuel efficiency.

Dubey started his career in the two-wheeler industry though. He joined Escorts Yamaha as a graduate engineer trainee in 1990, and had a nearly 10 year stint in the two-wheeler maker. He switched to the then scooter major LML, for a two year stint as a regional manager.
