Multiple Upstate law enforcement agencies are currently investigating a string of armed robberies at gas stations across our area. Law enforcement is looking into whether the incidents are all connected.
The first robbery occurred in mid-January at the Fast Fuel Number 9 Gas station in Williamston. Police say two men walked into the gas station, pointed a gun at the cashier, and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
The second robbery occurred Feb. 9 at the Shell Gas Station in Pelzer. The Anderson County Sheriff's Office says that two armed men entered the store and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
Another armed robbery occurred Feb. 14 at the Spinx Gas Station in Piedmont.
Two more armed robberies occurred early this morning at a Marathon Gas Station in Seneca around 1 a.m and a BP Gas Station in Anderson three hours later around 4 a.m.
Hours after the robbery in Anderson, Anderson police arrested Jakiyah Trevan Williams in connection to the incident. Williams is charged with Robbery with a Deadly Weapon.
The Anderson County Sheriff's Office is currently working with other law enforcement agencies to determine if the five incidents are all connected.
