Coronavirus : Airtel partners with Apollo Hospitals to break the infection chain
In its latest effort to support the fight against novel coronavirus, telecom operator Airtel has partnered with Apollo 24/7, the digital business unit of Apollo Hospitals group. Under the new partnership, the two companies seek to raise awareness about the COVID-19 using the Airtel’s network reach across the country and Apollo Hospital’s digital healthcare platform.
Apollo 24/7 has also developed a self assessment test that enables one to check their COVID-19 risk profile.
It is available on AirtelThanks app for free. Developed using AI based technologies, the test allows users to assess their risk to COVID-19 by answering a few simple questions.
Based on the user’s response, the tool generates a risk score and also suggests next best action depending on the score. These may include online consults on Apollo 24|7 free, dialing COVID non-prescriptive helpline from the app itself, self-care tips, social distancing guidelines and other important prevention steps as suggested by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW).
The quick risk scan can be taken across platforms including mobile smartphones, laptops and desktops. The company says that any information shared by Airtel users while taking the test will be kept confidential. Using the Apollo 24/7 free COVID-19 helpline number, users can talk to doctors and experts to clear their doubts about the infection.
Additionally, Airtel users will now be able to recharge their Airtel connections at Apollo Pharmacies across the country. This offers added convenience to Airtel customers looking at offline recharge options.
Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO (India and South Asia) Bharti Airtel said, “These are unprecedented times and we are working hard with our partners such as Apollo 24|7 to leverage digital technologies to help the nation. Airtel Thanks platform reaches millions of people in India and we hope this innovative tool can provide a sense of urgency around the need for social distancing to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19. Airtel remains fully committed to serving the nation in this difficult hour and support the efforts of the Government.”
