New Deals: Over 3X More Whole Foods Stores Offering Converted Organics Fertilizers

May 10, 2010 (FinancialWire) — Converted Organics Inc. (NASDAQ: COIN) is making inroads with its organics fertilizers line, thanks in part to Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFMI).

The two companies announced that the number of Whole Foods Market stores offering the Converted Organics line of all-natural, organic fertilizers has increased from 18 stores in 2009 to 84 stores in 2010. The company's all-natural fertilizer products are now available in two new Whole Foods Market areas, the North Atlantic and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Converted Organics (NASDAQ: COIN), based in Boston, MA, produces all-natural, organic soil amendment and fertilizer products through food waste recycling. The company uses its proprietary High Temperature Liquid Composting system, a proven, state-of-the-art microbial digestion technology, to process various biodegradable food wastes into dry pellet and liquid concentrate organic fertilizers that help grow healthier food and improve environmental quality.

Whole Foods Market, Inc. engages in the ownership and operation of natural and organic food supermarkets.
