Nurkin Named Regional President At Cogdell Spencer Unit

February 11, 2009 (FinancialWire) -- Cogdell Spencer Inc. (NYSE: CSA) (Current Market Cap: US$128.20 Mil.) has promoted Matthew Nurkin to president of the Mid-Atlantic Region of the company's Erdman unit.

Erdman offers integrated healthcare real estate services, including strategic planning, development, delivery and long-term ownership and management.

In his new role, Nurkin will focus on the client relationship and will be responsible for all design-build and development projects in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. He will report to Scott Ransom, Erdman's president and chief executive officer.

Nurkin joined Cogdell Spencer Advisors in 1996 to expand the company's activities in the ownership and debt restructuring of existing hospital and physician-owned facilities. His prior experience includes the analysis of various investments, including real estate, public and private equity and derivative instruments.

He most recently served as VP of acquisitions, and has overseen $225 million of capital transactions since Cogdell Spencer went public in late 2005.

Charlotte-based Cogdell Spencer is a real estate investment trust that invests in specialty office buildings for the medical profession, including medical offices and ambulatory surgery and diagnostic centers.
