The people have spoken – rating fast food chains on menu options, food quality, service and overall satisfaction.

According to the new American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) survey of more than 22,000 people, Chick-fil-A takes top honors again this year, for the third year in a row. Chick-fil-A scored 87 out of 100 points, well ahead of second place Panera Bread, which had an 81.

The two pizza giants, Papa John’s and Pizza Hut, tied at 80. Dominos had 79. Little Caesar's 77.

For Mexican food it was Chipotle Mexican Grill 79 and Taco Bell 74.

Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks tied at 78. KFC scored a 77.

Customer satisfaction with the big burger chains is typically well below the industry average.

Wendy’s (77) dethroned Burger King (76) this year and beat Jack in the Box (74) and McDonald’s (69). McDonald's anchored the bottom spot in the ACSI survey for the third straight year. Customers did give McDonald’s points for its expanded menu, but that was not enough to raise its overall rating.
