The Ministry of Education and Higher Education will organise the National Science Research Week and the 10th National Student Research Exhibition from March 11 to 15, 2018.
As part of the preparations for this event, the executive plan for the exhibition was prepared, and the organizing committees were set up for this week and a number of training workshops for the coordinators and research supervisors were organized to train the research teams in their schools.
The Ministry of Education said in a statement that these preparations are in cooperation with the Qatar National Research Fund and the Science and Technology Park, to prepare and qualify school students and develop their innovative and research skills to be pioneers in making the future of Qatar.
Head of the Scientific Research Skills Team at the Ministry of Education, Dr Asma Al Mohannadi, expressed her appreciation to the Scientific Research Team for supporting students’ research and allowing them to compete in international exhibitions and competitions.
Director of Research Capacity Building at the Qatar Fund for Research and Development, Dr Aisha Al Obaidli, stressed the need to focus on selecting innovative projects that are hoped to be marketable through the National Research Week Scientific.
Executive Director of Qatar Science and Technology Park, Dr Maher Hakim, highlighted the importance of this type of activity to promote entrepreneurship and foster a culture of developing useful product that serves the Qatari community and the world.
In support of student projects and participation in international research competitions, the Ministry of Education said that the preparations have begun for the participation of Qatar in the ITEX International Exhibition of Inventions and Technology in Malaysia in May, which is held annually for 27 years, One of the largest international competitions in the field of scientific inventions.
