NCR Corp. (NCR) reported a profit for its third quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line climbed to $143 million, or $0.93 per share. This was up from $135 million, or $0.87 per share, in last year's third quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.90 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter fell 1.2% to $1.66 billion. This was down from $1.68 billion last year.
