CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK) –  Charleston Area Medical Center is eliminating 40 jobs, including nurse practitioner and physician assistants.

According to Dale Witte, a spokesperson for CAMC, the 40 positions will be eliminated effective November 4th, 2017 and are included in the 300 positions originally announced in July.

CAMC announced budget cuts in July that included eliminating approximately 300 positions. Witte says that the elimination of these 40 positions is a continuation of that plan.

CAMC says that human resources is working with each of the affected individuals and will assist in identifying any opportunity within CAMC for continued employment.

Witte says that this does not affect our recruitment of nurses and that CAMC is continuing to recruit bedside nurses.
