SPOKANE, Wash. Sept. 11, 2017: Klamath Community College Foundation and Rogue Community College Foundation have each received a $3,500 grant from the Avista Foundation for programs supporting students and community enrichment. Support for Klamath Community College will go towards purchasing technology equipment for the new Work Skills Technology Center (WSTC) that will serve the Klamath Basin's most vulnerable populations - GED students, alternative high school students and dislocated workers. The new conference room technology will virtually bring subject matter experts into the classroom, allow students to collaborate with peers on projects on or off-site, and provide distance learners with classroom experiences. Rogue Community College support is for medical software and devices and related training supplies needed to offer Advanced Cardiac Life Support training to students and to the healthcare sector in Jackson and Josephine counties. 'Supporting organizations and institutions working to meet the needs of our neighbors and strengthening communities served by Avista is very important to us,' said Steve Vincent, Avista's Regional Business Manager for the company's Oregon service area.
