Savannah-Chatham police, Safe Kids, Amerigroup partner for free car seat safety inspections

Concerned about car seats? Savannah-Chatham police want to help.

Metro’s certified child passenger safety technicians will be partnering with Safe Kids and Amerigroup on August 19 to offer complimentary car seat inspections at the Toys R Us/Babies R Us in the 7400 block of Abercorn Street. The technicians will inspect car seats, teach parents and guardians the correct way to install the seats for optimum safety, and answer questions about child safety in a vehicle. The inspections will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A PIO will be on scene for media availability from 11 a.m. to noon.
