Many fans attending a baseball game at NBT Bank Stadium probably take so much for granted, and it's not their fault.

The crack of the bat, the fresh cut grass all scream baseball in America.

For Challenger Baseball, all of it, is an absolute privilege.

Syracuse Challenger Baseball is our local league of special little leaguers, currently the largest of its kind in the nation.

Baseball players with physical and developmental disabilities are finally able to play the game they love, previously not able to play "traditional" little league.

Syracuse's league took things a step further in 2015 adding an adult league, which allows 41- year old Jamar Reaves and 58-year old Ralph Koch finally play the game they love for the first time.

Let that sink in....40+ years without their true love, not anymore thanks to Challenger Baseball.

So you see why they don't take baseball and its sights and sounds for granted.

Now comes the fun part.

On Tuesday, the local Challengers were allowed to play their league night at the home of the Syracuse Chiefs, a team they root for 141 games per year.

To be honest, words can't quite describe the special scene. Click the video player to watch our special needs players doing giving it their best with their families on the field.
