Business People on the Move: Healthy Rowhouse Project names new executive director

Jill Roberts has joined the Healthy Rowhouse Project as executive director. The project began as an initiative of the Design Advocacy Group and is now part of the Center for Architecture. Roberts had been community development project manager and housing operations manager at Project HOME in Philadelphia.

Publicly traded water utility Aqua America Inc., Bryn Mawr, has promoted Olivia Hawkins to director of quality for customer operations from business-process analyst. Hawkins replaces Tom Cox, whom Aqua promoted to vice president of customer operations in December of last year.

David J. Fish has been appointed professor of clinical anesthesiology at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and director of critical care in the Department of Anesthesiology at Temple University Hospital. Fish had been associate professor of anesthesiology at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, and division head for critical care medicine at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Fish earned his medical degree at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, and completed an Anesthesiology Residency and Internal Medicine Residency at Temple University Hospital. He also completed a Critical Care Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.

MakeOffices, a company that offers flexible, affordable workspaces and services for businesses and entrepreneurs, has hired Danika Ervin as city lead for the company in Philadelphia. She had been associate, brokerage service, at Cushman & Wakefield.

VirMedica, a Philadelphia technology company that helps expedite patient access to biopharmaceutical products, has elected Philip Lee as president, CEO, and a member of the board. He had been president and CEO of PHT Corp., president of eXcelon Corp. and president and CEO of Clinsoft.

Genesis Healthcare, a Kennett Square provider of post-acute rehabilitation, has hired Richard A. Feifer as chief medical officer of Genesis Physician Services. Feifer had served as Aetna's chief medical officer of national accounts. Before Aetna, Feifer served as vice president of clinical program innovation and evaluation at Medco.

Angela C. Grunte has been promoted from executive vice president to chief operating officer at Vizant, a Chadds Ford advisory firm.

Bryn Mawr Bank Corp., parent of Bryn Mawr Trust Co., has hired Michael Poga as vice president mortgage loan officer in its mortgage division. He had been a senior mortgage loan officer at Firstrust Bank. It also hired Douglas L. Whalen as vice president in small business administration. He had been vice president of relationship management at Citizens Bank.

TD Bank has named Jessica Nazarian as vice president, store manager, of a branch in Blackwood. She had been store manager at Wells Fargo Bank in Philadelphia.

Wistar Institute, a West Philadelphia nonprofit specializing in basic biomedical research with a focus on cancer and vaccines, has named molecular biologist Kavitha Sarma as assistant professor in Wistar's Gene Expression and Regulation Program. From 2010 to 2012, Sarma was the recipient of the Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health. She joins Wistar from the department of molecular biology at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, where she was a postdoctoral fellow in the lab of Dr. Jeannie T. Lee. Prior to that, she was a graduate student in the Department of Biochemistry at Rutgers University in the lab of Danny Reinberg, Ph.D., (currently at New York University School of Medicine).

John Hoffman, founding dean of Arcadia University's College of Arts and Sciences, has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs at Arcadia, effective June 1.

Tony S. Reed has been appointed associate chief medical officer of Temple University Hospital. He had been chief medical information officer, and senior medical director of quality and analytics for AtlantiCare in Atlantic City. Reed is board-certified in family medicine with a subspecialty in sports medicine. He earned his medical degree from MCP Hahnemann University and completed a Family Medicine Residency at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center in Reading, PA, and a Fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at the Ohio State University.

Steven H. Gartner has been promoted to managing director of retail for the Greater Pennsylvania Region of CBRE Group Inc., a commercial real estate services and investment firm. Gartner will oversee all retail activities in Pennsylvania, South Jersey, and Delaware. He had been executive vice president for retail as a part of its Global High Street Retail Practice. Prior to joining CBRE, he had been president and partner of Metro Commercial Real Estate.

AT&T has named Judy Cavalieri vice president and general manager of the Liberty States region, based in its Philadelphia office. She had been vice president of voice and prepaid products. She will oversee the sales and operations of more than 1,500 employees, nearly 270 AT&T-owned and authorized retailer locations across Pennsylvania, Delaware, South Jersey, and parts of West Virginia and Ohio, as well as national retail sales.

Louis R. Belmonte Jr., has been named assistant district executive for services for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Engineering District 6, King of Prussia, which covers the five-county Philadelphia region. He had been acting ADE for services for 17 months prior to his promotion.

Independence Blue Cross, Philadelphia, has named Heidi J. Syropoulos, a geriatrician, as medical director of government markets. The segment focuses medical offerings, prescription drug coverage, and special state-subsidized programs for Medicare-eligible individuals.She had been the lead physician in the complex care program for Cigna-HealthSpring. She has also served as a staff physician and medical director of long term care for Erickson Health Medical Group and section chief of the Primary Care Network at Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia.

Syropoulos is board certified in Geriatrics and Internal Medicine. She received her MD from University of Minnesota, where she also completed her residency.

Widener University has named Jayati Ghosh as dean of the School of Business Administration and professor of international business. She had been associate dean of the Barowsky School of Business at Dominican University of California.

Phillips Pet Food & Supplies, a nationwide distributor of pet food and supplies in Easton, has appointed Todd Shelton as CEO. He had been an officer of Essendant Inc.for 14-years and served as president of its two largest operating units. He succeeds Blaine Phillips, who served as CEO of Phillips since 1981.

The family-run business also named Greg Cyr as chief commercial officer, following the planned retirement of chief marketing officer Sheryl Maher. He had been vice president of customer development for Mars Petcare Specialty Division.

Grant Thornton L.L.P. has admitted Melissa Beaumont and Michael Pramberger as audit partners in the firm's Philadelphia office. In addition to these promotions,

Comcast Corp., Philadelphia, has named Sridhar Solur as senior vice president product development for Xfinity Home and Internet of Things (IoT) for Comcast Cable. Solur will lead product development for the Xfinity Home business, which includes devices and services in the IoT, home automation, and home security categories. Solur joins Comcast from Hewlett Packard, where he was the founder and general manager of the company's wearables and IoT business, as well as the founder and World Wide director of HP's cloud and mobile printing business, known as HP ePrint.

The Logan Hotel, Philadelphia, has named Greg Stafford general manager. He had been general manager of the Inn at Penn, a Hilton Hotel.

Catholic Human Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has promoted David Shellenberger to president of St. John Vianney Center. He had been chief operating officer since 2014 and prior to that, chief nursing officer.

Philadelphia law firm Cozen O'Connor said it has expanded its real estate department in South Florida with the hiring of Christian Bruno. He will be a member in the firm's Miami office. Bruno attended Boston College for his undergraduate degree and earned a joint J.D./M.B.A. degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He is admitted to practice in Florida, New York and Pennsylvania and is fluent in Spanish.

Global provider of reinsurance broking and consultancy JLT Re, Philadelphia said it had opened a new operation in North America – JLT Re Global Mortgage Solutions. This business will be led by executive vice president Steve Rance. Part of JLT Re (North America) Inc., it will work with government sponsored entities, domestic mortgage insurers, mortgage lenders and house builders to provide (re)insurance structures. Prior to joining JLT in 2008, he had been managing director for structured transactions at Genworth Mortgage Insurance and European managing director at Radian, a U.S. mortgage insurer.

Lincoln Financial Group Retirement Plan Services, Radnor, has named Michael McAtamney director of consultant relations on its Institutional Retirement Distribution team. McAtamney works with national and regional independent registered advisor and consulting firms in the western region of the country. He spent 26-years with TIAA-CREF, where he most recently led consultant relations and sales efforts in the western region and nationally.

Bayer Corp., Whippany, has appointed Paul Capelli as vice president of communications for Bayer Consumer Health. Capelli had been vice president of corporate communications at QVC, Inc., West Chester. Capelli also spent time at CNBC, Amazon.com and Ketchum in various communications and public relations roles. He is a graduate of Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J.

ab+c Creative Intelligence, a marketing communications firms, with offices in Wilmington, Philadelphia and Bloomsburg, has promoted Shawn Kessler to managing director of the company's recruitment marketing practice. The agency said its recruitment business expected to double this year. Kessler had been a senior strategist helping clients with healthcare recruitment. He earned his degree in applied arts from Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Blank Rome L.L.P. has hired YanLing (Winnie) Wang as an associate in the firm's corporate M&A  and Securities group in its Philadelphia. Wang had been an associate at White and Williams, L.L.P. Wang has experience representing clients in their business in China, and is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and Fuzhounese Chinese. Wang earned her J.D. from Boston College Law School and her B.A. from Cornell University. Prior to law school, she participated in M&T Bank's Management Training Program and worked there as a personal banker for two years. She served as a legal intern for Magistrate Judge Judith Dein, U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and as a law clerk for Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Wilmington-based intellectual property law firm Panitch Schwarze Belisario & Nadel L.L.P. hired IP attorney Paul E. Crawford.  Crawford has background in mechanical engineering and represents clients in matters of due diligence, licensing, patent interferences, right to use, litigation, prosecution, unfair competition and trade secret law. Crawford was a partner and member of the Asian Pacific practice at Novak Druce Connolly Bove & Quigg L.L.P. nearly 45-years. He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Villanova University, and a law degree from Villanova University School of Law

Investors Bank, Robbinsville, N.J., has hired Cynthia Murphy as vice president business lending. Murphy spent 7-years as a vice president and business banking relationship manager for Santander and had been the vice president and associate managing director at startup, Herald National Bank.

Jianping Wang has been installed as the sixth president of Mercer County Community College in West Windsor. She succeeds Patricia C. Donohue, who retired last year following a 49-year career – the last eight at Mercer.

Wang served as the vice president of academic affairs at Ocean County College in Toms River prior to her appointment at Mercer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from China's Hangzhou University, and a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from Beijing University. Wang received her master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in 1993, and her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara in 2007.

Nola Rooney Bencze and Joseph A. Carita have joined the Princeton office of Clark Hill as senior counsel in the firm's banking and finance practice group.

Bencze earned her J.D. at Seton Hall University School of Law and B.A. at St. Joseph's College. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York. Carita earned his J.D. at Widener University School of Law and B.A. at the Bucknell University. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
