The Chubb Corporation Announces 6% Fall In Q4 Earnings

The Chubb Corporation (CB) reported a profit for fourth quarter that lost ground from last year.

The company said its profit fell to $780 million, or $2.38 per share. This was down from $827 million, or $2.47 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $2.26 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
