Delta Airlines and Korean Air announced on Nov. 18 that the US Department of Transportation had given the two companies permission to proceed with a joint venture the previous day. The joint venture provides the companies with antitrust immunity and allows them to share costs and revenues from each other’s flights. “We can make joint sales and expand efforts in the Asian and US markets, and expect to provide our customers with unified service such as connecting baggage through the joint use of facilities, including at core hub airports and Incheon International Terminal 2,” said a Korean Air source.

The photo shows representatives from the two companies signing the agreement to operate a joint venture in the Pacific route from Los Angeles to Seoul on June 23.
