Saar Gillai has a new job. Networking startup Teridion on Oct. 10 named Gillai as the company’s new CEO

The affable technology executive spent six years at Hewlett Packard, leading the company’s NFV, cloud and networking efforts at various points. Gillai joined HP as part of the 3Com acquisition that closed in April 2010.

“Saar Gillai is recognized and well respected in both the cloud and networking worlds,” Teridion Chairman Ronnie Kenneth stated. “He brings more than 20 years of building innovative and successful businesses and has held senior executive positions in top Silicon Valley companies including Cisco and HPE, as well as key leadership roles in startups.”

Teridion’s business crosses both cloud and networking verticals, offering Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud vendors a ‘fast lane’ for internet connectivity. Teridion’s core platform is the KumoX service.

KumoX includes monitoring, virtual cloud routers and a management portal. The Teridion Monitoring System (TMS) calculates the fastest paths across the internet and uses that information to direct traffic with Teridion’s virtual cloud routers. The Teridion Portal then provide network administrators with a user interface for monitoring all the traffic and troubleshooting any potential issues.

“The age of everything-delivered-over-the-Internet requires a new approach to networking,” Gillai stated. “Unacceptable response times are bad for customers and bad for business. With more and more data generated dynamically by applications and users, existing technologies like CDNs are not sufficient.”
